Storage Sonoma Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Have Any Units Available?

Check with us directly by phone or email. Occupancy has been very high and turnover low.

Do You Have a Waiting List?

No. Because all of the storage facilities in Sonoma Valley have a very high occupancy and low turnover rate, wait listing does not work. We rent on a first come, first serve basis only.

I Need Storage, What Can I Do?

Periodically call the storage facilities here in the Valley until you find something. If do find an available unit, rent it immediately.

When is My Rent Due?

Rent is always due on the 1st and fees begin to accrue after the 10th.

Our terms are month-to-month and we pro-rate rent on move-in and move-out*.

* Move-outs after the 21st of the month are not pro-rated.

How do I Pay? Can I Pay Online?

We have several payment options including safe and secure online payment. For all the details go to our pay-your-rent page here.

What Are Your Move-in Fees?

In addition to rent we charge $110 in move-in fees and deposits. This includes a $10 non-refundable administration fee, a $60 security deposit and a $40 deposit for your gate access fob.

The deposits are returned upon a successful move-out. See the next question for details.

How Do I Get My Deposits Back?

Security Deposit

Remove everything from your unit, including trash, and broomsweep it. Failure to empty and sweep your unit can result in loss of your security deposit and addtional fees.

Gate Access Fob

Return your gate access tag back to our Business Office during business hours.

When Can I Access My Unit?

You have access from 7 am to 7 pm daily. You must be off of the premises by 7 pm as the gates lock promtly at 7 pm by our system time.

The facilities are closed for access six (6) days out of the year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

If your rent is deliquent, your gate access tag will be deactivated until your account is made current.

Do I Have to Give Advanced Notice to Move Out?

While we don't penalize anyone for moving-out without advance notice, we do request a 10-day advance notice of your intention to vacate. See your copy of our Terms of Service for details.

With occupancy so high and turn-over low, knowing about pending move-outs helps us advise people seeking storage.

I Just Got a Pre-Lien or Lien Sale Notice. What is That?

It means your account is seriously deliquent and if it is not resolved quickly, we may have to reclaim our unit, back rent and fees by selling the items in it at auction. You need to contact us immediately to resolve your account.

Do You Store Cars - RVs - etc.?

No. Storage Sonoma and Sonoma Mini Storage are a self-storage facilities. We cannot store anything with an engine.

Do You Offer a Discount for Advance Payment?

Yes. Pay 6-months in advance and you get 2-weeks free. Pay a year in advance and get 1-month free. Call our Business Office at +17079355888 for details.
